BMA Planning is a planning and development consultancy which has provided its services to public and private sector clients throughout the length and breadth of Ireland for over 20 years.
In addition to its permanent in-house expertise in town planning, the practice works as part of multi-disciplinary teams with architects, urban designers, engineers, landscape architects and environmental consultants as required for each individual project.

Ray Ryan
Managing Director
BA (Hons) MRUP MIPI
As a planning consultant since 1997, Ray has advised a range of private and public sector clients on many of the most significant urban development and infrastructure projects in the country.
Ray also contributes as a lecturer in planning to third-level institutes as well as other courses and CPD events arranged by clients, corporate groups, local authorities and semi-state organisations.
John Murphy
Senior Planning Consultant
BA MRUP MIPI
John is a qualified town planner (MRUP) with over 10 years of experience as a planning consultant with BMA Planning. Before joining BMA in 2004, he worked in Wicklow County Council and in the private sector.
He has worked on a range of large-scale commercial and residential planning applications and has particular expertise in planning regulations and retail impact assessment.
Vivienne Boylan
Planning Consultant
BA MRUP MIPI
Vivienne is a town planner, having gained a post-graduate MRUP at University College Dublin. Her experience spans a range of aspects of planning and, as a planning consultant with BMA Planning, she has contributed to and coordinated various large-scale planning applications for residential and commercial projects.
All professional planning staff are accredited members of the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) and / or the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
